The Dancer's House
Situated in a quiet neighborhood above Woods Creek, just a short walk from downtown, newly renovated and fully furnished, the Dancers’ House is provided for the use of The CDCT as part of a generous gift from Lexington residents Ann Huebner and Ross Waller. It is a gift that both supports and directly empowers every aspect of The CDCT’s mission. Serving as a home for CDCT interns and as a private residence for guest artists, the Dancers’ House is helping The CDCT to build artistic connections within our community as it extends our reach to the performing arts world beyond Rockbridge County.
Since the opening of the house in the spring of 2008, students, teachers, and artists from New York City, Washington DC, Richmond, Charlottesville, North Carolina, and Texas have traveled to Lexington to participate in CDCT educational and performance projects knowing that they have a comfortable place to stay designated just for them. Being able to provide housing is an added bonus that allows The CDCT to attract talented young people to our intern program and enlist quality professionals as collaborators in our performance projects. The CDCT not only benefits from the contributions these people make while they are here, company members are also building friendships and forming important professional connections that remain in place once the guests have returned home.
